Fiido Nomads Touring eBike
The Fiido Nomads Touring eBike is built for one purpose: taking long trips via bike. The limiting factor of using eBikes for bike touring is the limited range of the battery. Well, Fiido has solved that problem with an option that includes two extra batteries and a rack to hold them.
Under the single-battery configuration, the Nomad’s 36v 417.6 Wh battery promises 49 miles of range, but add in the swappable extra batteries and the range increases to 148 miles. A 250w rear-hub motor can move the bike up to a preset 15.5 mph max speed.
The Nomads is built on an aluminum alloy XC-inspired frame with an oil and shock front suspension fork that offers 120mm of travel. The CST 2.1″ tires are wrapped around 29″ wheels. And Tektro hydraulic disc brakes provide ample stopping power in all conditions. Shifting is courtesy of a Shimano 9-speed drivetrain.
The Nomads has a 1.47 inch display that is mounted on the stem and promises visibility in all weather conditions. The bike can be turned on via the Fiido App which also tracks many ride metrics.
A rear rack and front and rear fenders are standard features. When the extended option is added, two extra batteries, a battery rack and bags for the batteries are also included.
The Nomads is available in 2 sizes (Medium and Large) and can accommodate riders between 5′ 5″ and 6′ 9″ tall. It weighs 54 pounds and can carry up to 264 pounds and comes in one color.
The bike starts at $1,299 at fiido.com.
