Ride1Up TrailRush eMBT
The Ride1Up TrailRush is a mountain bike that just happens to be equipped with an electric motor.
Features like tubeless-ready wheels, a RockShox Judy fork, quad-piston hydraulic brakes, a 1×10 drivetrain and a dropper post read like a list of non-eBike specs. But then add in the Brose TF Sprinter mid-dive motor and the removable 36V battery and TrailRush may be the best of both worlds.
The German-made 250w motor pulls 90Nm of torque, which will come in helpful on climbs and can propel the bike up to 28 mph. With a built-in torque sensor, the mid-drive system provides more efficient power transfer, compared to hub motor, which allows the rider to use the gears of the bike for a more natural riding experience.
As a mid-drive bike, the Ride1Up TrailRush does not ship with a throttle because, under motor only power, the tension and wear on the chain could lead to link breakage.
Thanks to the 36V 14Ah Battery with Samsung cells, the TrailRush gets 30 to 50 miles range. The battery is removable and locks into the frame for security. The 1.5” LCD TFT shows which of the four pedal-assist levels is active as well as standard ride metrics like speed and distance.
The bike is specced with a Shimano Deore 1×10 drivetrain, Tektro Hydrualic disc brakes with 180mm rotors, a RockShox Judy Silver TK for k with 120 mm travel and an Exaform KSP900 dropper post with 150 mm travel.
The 29″x2.6″ Maxxis Minion tires are tubeless ready, but the double-walled aluminum rims require need to be taped. Sporting an Aluminum alloy frame, the TrailRush weighs 57 pounds.
The Ride1Up TrailRush is available in Medium and Large frame sizes and three color schemes: Cobalt, Burnt Sunset and Galaxy Gray. It currently retails for $2,095 at ride1up.com
